Oryn
Oryn is a personal health app for iPhone. It brings your sleep, steps, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability together from Apple Health and Google Health into one view, keeps track of which source reported each value, and explains what the combined pattern shows.
What Oryn does
Most people already carry more than one health source: a phone counting steps, a watch tracking sleep, an app reading heart rate. Each one tells a partial story, and they do not always agree. Oryn solves that specific problem. It:
- Reads a fixed, narrow set of health measurements from the sources you connect.
- Combines readings that describe the same day, removing double-counting when your phone and watch both recorded the same activity.
- Keeps the origin of every value, so you can always see which source a number came from.
- Shows how a merged value was decided when two sources disagree, instead of silently picking one.
- Builds a personal baseline from your own history, so a change is measured against you rather than a population average.

Oryn requests nothing outside this list. There is no other health category, no location history, and no contact data.
How Oryn uses Google Health data
Connecting Google Health is optional — Oryn works with Apple Health alone. If you do connect it, Oryn asks for read-only access to three scopes, each for a specific feature:

Oryn never requests write access and cannot modify anything in your Google account. The data retrieved through these scopes is used only to display your own health view inside the app. It is not sold, not shared, not used for advertising, and not used to train machine learning models. You can disconnect at any time from inside Oryn or from your Google Account permissions page, and you can delete everything Oryn holds from the app's Privacy screen.
Oryn's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How Oryn uses Apple Health data
On iPhone, Oryn reads the same four measurements from Apple Health, with permission you grant per data type through Apple's own permission screen and can revoke at any time in the iOS Health app. Data obtained through Apple HealthKit is used solely to provide the features described on this page. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties.
What Oryn does not do
- It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice. It is not a medical device.
- It does not sell your data, and there is no advertising anywhere in the product.
- It carries no third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs — not in the app, not on this page.
- It does not use streaks, scores, or notifications designed to make you anxious.
- It does not claim certainty it does not have. When a pattern is still forming, it says so.
Your data stays yours
You can export everything Oryn holds about you as a downloadable archive, and you can delete your account and health data from inside the app at any time. Deletion is permanent, and it removes your data from live systems within 24 hours. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is stored, for how long, and why. The Terms of Service set out the agreement between you and Oryn.
